It all began in the district of Büyükdere at İstanbul on May the 8th, 1966 when 31 year old Salim Düzgit established İstanbul Boğazı Vapur Hizmetleri to service ships passing through the Strait and staying on anchor at Büyükdere Bay.
The company initially played the very-end contact with the actual vessel and for that reason the nature of its business can be regarded as ‘sub-agency’ acting on behalf of main agencies located in Turkey.
